All properties we represent are privately-owned, waterfront properties. Due to wear & tear and septic systems, they are not suitable for large family reunions, weddings, or any other kind of group function. Each listing provides a maximum number of people allowed on the property both at night and in the day. This must be strictly adhered to at all times. Failure to do so, will be considered a breach of contract and you may have to vacate the cottage without reimbursement. Depending on the mix of your property (i.e. number of adults to children) it may be possible to accommodate a larger number, however, only with the owner's prior consent.
The success of your vacation depends to a large extent on choosing a cottage property that suits your own particular vacation requirements, so please read the descriptions carefully. In general, the rental rate reflects the standard offered. If you don't have a need to be on the larger, more popular lakes (Rosseau, Muskoka, Joseph & Lake of Bays), you may be able to rent a much nicer property, for less money, on a smaller lake. A cottage property listed at $1500 a week on a lake such as Lake Rosseau, would be considered a "below-average", very basic cottage, whereas $1500 on a smaller lake could be of much better quality.
Most properties are direct lakefront where exclusive use of the lake frontage is provided. We have Ontario lakefront cottages for rent in prime Muskoka locations on Lake Joseph, Lake Muskoka, Rousseau, Lake of Bays, Gull Lake and many other beautiful lakes in Muskoka. We also have a selection of Muskoka rental cottages on smaller lakes. Browse for Muskoka rental cottages in Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Port Carling, Dorset, Bala, Huntsville and other beautiful Muskoka communities. A few cottages are riverfront, or have indirect access to the waterfront (e.g. across the road, or shared). When this is the case, it will be clearly stated in the listing description.
Unless otherwise stated, all vacation properties listed have been viewed at the time of the initial registration. At this time, we prepare a detailed listing description pointing out both positive and negative aspects of a property. The description is continually updated as we get feedback from renters. In addition, all descriptions are checked annually by the owners in case alterations have been made to the cottage.
Photos are accurate only at time taken. We do try to re-visit each property every year to update our photos, descriptions and memories of each water front home. Any photos or movies clips are accurate only at the time they were taken.
